Morgan Peterson Bryant, Esq.
General Counsel, Mountain Strong
Morgan (Peterson) Bryant has strong family ties in both Yancey and Mitchell County. Along with the other founders of Mountain Strong, Morgan is a proud former student athlete of Mountain Heritage High School. Although she did not graduate with the same high school class as the other founders, she lovingly adopted all of them as little sisters and has never lost touch over the last 18(+) years. After graduating from Mountain Heritage, Morgan attended Appalachian State University for undergrad and continued with post-graduate education at Charleston School of Law.
Morgan served as Editor in Chief of the Charleston Law Review and graduated law school Magna Cum Lade in 2013. Morgan began her legal career back in Asheville, NC, with Roberts & Stevens, P.A., where she practiced employment law and business litigation. In 2017, she and her husband, Barron Bryant, moved back to Charleston where she began practicing with McCabe, Trotter, and Beverly, P.C. While in Charleston, Barron finished his residency and training as a pediatric cardiologist at MUSC and Morgan focused her practice on litigation and general advice for non-profit community associations and condominiums.
Morgan was excited to move back to her hometown of Burnsville with her husband and their daughter Rowan in July of 2024, but just two and a half months later, Hurricane Helene completely decimated the area. Morgan and Barron were fortunate in the aftermath of the storm, but so many friends and neighbors were not. On day one after the storm subsided, Barron began volunteering with other medical professionals at the Burnsville Fire Department's field hospital, and Morgan went to work with the Mountain Strong team to get emergency supplies and relief to the area as quickly as possible.
In the several months of rebuilding following Hurricane Helene, Morgan has taken pride in working with friends, family, and neighbors in her hometown. With the support of the other lawyers in the area, Morgan decided to open her first solo practice in Burnsville, where she will focus on real estate law, wills, trusts, and estates, business law, and general litigation.
Morgan is so thankful for the other members of Mountain Strong, for their immediate and relentless efforts to rebuild their hometown communities, but also for their long-time friendship and support that can literally move mountains.
